September 23, 2010 - Regensburg!

I think blogging will take me foreverrrr. Haha. I wanna blog about last night na (October 7) but I have to finish all the previous days first!

Woke up, packed, had breakfast, then took some photos again outside the hostel.

Felicidades

Panj and I!

We love em model shots, hahaha.

Super laughing

This is what Butch and I had to eat at the DB station! Super sabaw, we didn't know where the station was for the DB trains. We got dropped off the the Hauptbanhof (main/central station) and thought it was there. We were checking the scheds but couldn't find the right one. We thought instead of taking the train we planned to then, we'd have to take a later one since that was what was written on the scheds. So we were thinking pa what we'd do with all the extra time. We saw another building across where people were entering and exiting so we thought it was like a mall or a place with restaurants. But after a while, we realized...THAT WAS THE DB STATION. Sabaw. So we went there and made it to the train we were originally planning to take! Haha.

First train ride!

HAHA

Finally at Regensburg! About an hour away. The station is directly connected to the mall so we went in and paid a visit to H&M. I bought a small black fringe bag that I've been using everyday since Panj's birthday! (So it's sulit, don't worry mom!) We had some pancit to eat at the mall too. We were starving and needed some food first before being hassled again looking for our hostel.

This is our youth hostel! In Germany, the name of the hostels we always stay at is "jugendberge." We couldn't find it at first when we got off at the right bus stop so we asked an old couple. We had a hard time understanding each other cause of the way we pronounced it. Finally, the old man understood us and said "Ohh! Joogendiburger!" Hahaha. It sounds so funny and we love saying it now. He pointed us in the right direction; apparently it was just a few seconds away.

This is our favorite path cause the trees are beautiful! Directly beside it is the Danube river which passes through ten countries!

There are purple flowers everywhere here! Well, there are lotsa flowers with different colors but I like the purple ones best. Haha.

A really pretty restaurant we found! It's kind of hidden so that makes it even more beautiful!

THE DOM. THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CHURCH I'VE SEEN SO FAR!

I look like I was copy-pasted

Beautiful

It's surprisingly really cold inside!

We went to the Domschatz museum too. It was small but it was interesting to see everything!

At a market in Regensburg.

There was this cute stall with really beautiful hats. I tried one on and the man was so sweet, he came up to me from behind the counter and told me he was the maker and asked if I minded that he fix it on me. I wasn't wearing it properly apparently. He was so so cute! He demonstrated to Panj and I how the hat keeps you warm and how it doesn't get deformed even when it gets squished in your bag. He was really so so adorable and I wanted to buy the hat but it was so expensive. :( Around 40-50 euros or something.

We came across a bad store, haha.

We had early dinner in this restaurant -- Al Camino Restaurant Pizzeria

Aglio olio

Especiale, I think. Different kinds of meat

Panj and I

Panj ate too much again and said her stomach was hurting or some area over there, I forget, and said she couldn't breath. Like that feeling when you run too fast?

Steph or Butch: What do you call that again?
Panjee: Side burn.
HAHAHAHA.

We explored the whole of Regensburg. We had a map with us and went to all the "platz's" there were! I'm not quite sure what platz is in English but it means a big space. The one in the photo is a platz although I forgot what it's called. :( Some "platzs" though are not like this one, some are just big spaces. Haha. So we went to all platzs! Even the ones with just cars and leaves. :))

I know it's babaw, but I really love how they have beautiful flowers everywhere here. This I found in that same platz above. I wish there was less pollution in the Philippines so that everywhere around the country we could see things like this too.

One of the things we found while exploring. This was a platz too, but it was just all cars and this building. Haha.

The DOM at night. I love Regensburg cause of this church. If you see it, if you stand before it, I guarantee you'll be amazed! I know in the photo it may not come off as that great, but really! It's amazing.

We stopped by TK Maxx, a store kind of like Century 21 in New York. Lots of branded stuff for cheap. Panjee bought sunglasses that she raved about the ENTIRE night. She must've mentioned it 8-10 times on the way home. When we finally got to the hostel and she got them from the case, we realized something. THE WHITE MAGNET THING WAS STILL ON THE SUNGLASSES. IN THE BRIDGE PART. HAHAHAHA. So she couldn't wear them after raving about them for so long. We laughed so much. Hahaha. Love you, Panj!

Sorry, rewind. This is on the way home, somewhat across the Dom. It's an adorable hat store! And if you zoom in (click on the photo), you'll see that the two floors above it is where they make the hats cause you can see some hats there too. So adorable!

When we got back, we watched Nacho Libre, which is just too nakakasabaw. Haha. We didn't finish it and slept instead. :)
