October 18, 2010 - First day of school!

Woke up late today! Got dressed quickly then hurried to school with Butch. Panj followed. Made it to class at exactly 12:00 pm. We thought our class started at 12:15 since that what it said in KU.Campus (our school's version of Ateneo's AISIS) but then when we checked the tv screen at the school lobby, it said 12.

When we got inside, it was kind of awkward cause everybody was so old! Haha. It was a Master's class. We have one-two Master classes, cause of the lack of English classes that fit our desired Mon-Tue-Wed schedule. Haha.

We saw Chris though! The super super nice tutor that helped us out when we first moved in to our apartments. He speaks English really well. Butch and I took our seats. Professor Habische, a tall, kind of old man, walked in with what seemed like two assistant teachers. They were taking their Phds or something and they'd be teaching the course too. Their names were Stephanie, a German, and Christian, a Latin American. The class was CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) in Latin America, by the way!

I like the way the professor spoke, he really commanded attention. He asked us all to introduce ourselves, starting with me! He asked me about background in CSR and I mentioned how it's quite a big thing in the Philippines, and I mentioned Gawad Kalinga too. Some people that introduced themselves and spoke about their background in CSR said they didn't really know much about it, etc. I guess since the situation is different in our country and helping the less fortunate is a big deal for us.

There were 20 students in the class, and only around three other exchange students--from India. Class lasted till 1:45/2. We went to the International Office next to follow up on our rent contracts. Armelle, the chick, is medyo malabo kaya umalis nalang kami.

We walked pass the Kreuztor, as we always do to get to the city part from school. Here's a photo of the Kreuztor that I think I uploaded na before:

We went to a restaurant called Due for the second time which is just right behind the Kreuztor.

I ordered Spaghetti Bolognese for 3.50! It was supposed to have less noodles but I think the nice Italian waiter felt bad for me and told me he told them to add more. Haha.

Look at their water bottles. :) They don't have any small plastic ones here.

Butch's pesto pasta

We went back to school cause we had to attend something organized by the Welcome Team at three.

This is the classroom where we assembled in

They gave us a short introduction and then we separated into two groups for the tour of the school. There was the English tour and the German tour. We made new friends with the other Asians! There was this group from China--one boy and two girls and they all live in our dorm too!

During the school tour. People were still walking down so at first, we were all Asians, with just one European--Marco. He's so funny cause he's Italian and he has this very thick Italian accent so every time he talks, it's entertaining. We were all settling then he looked at us then we said he was the only European then he says out loud "OH CMON!" In his accent, it sounded really funny. Haha. Mikhel/Mikel (from Spain) and Peter (our neighbor and friend from Slovakia) followed with a few other Europeans so it wasn't so bad na. Haha.

This is the lecture hall. So pretty! I wish one of my classes were held here.

The school's really small with only three buildings--the new building (that looks like SOM), the old one, and the lecture hall. It didn't take us much time to tour the whole place. We even checked out the washing machines at the basement of the new building where we could wash our clothes for free. We were laughing cause it was part of our tour pa and when we got there, they were sira pa. With only the dryer working. Haha!

Library entrance

PRETTY LIBRARY!

Next, we assembled outside the main entrance for the tour around Ingolstadt.

This is our super cute tour guide Maria! Everything she had on was either red or black

She's so cute and so so nice!

I'm glad we got to go on the tour cause we got to see other places, as well as know the stories behind some of the things that we just passed by daily.

At VIKTUAILIENMART. Haha, I kept on saying "virtualienmart" in the past entries. Sorry, tech geek at heart. :)

We entered the back door to this kind of secret garden thing!

It was so so cold!

Panjee's turn

Maria told us about lots of gross things that went on inside that building. About people experimenting with dead bodies and stuff like that. Because of the practice in this building, Marie Shelley was inspired to write Frankenstein! Maria then told us the story. It was interesting! They also have a tour focused on Frankenstein and it starts at night so maybe we can try that out next time.

After almost two hours, we went back to school for another affair at six. We got there a little earlier, so we all just relaxed at the lobby. We went down to the vendos with Kim (our super super nice Korean friend that's gago, haha. It's his second semester here already) and I got hot chocolate and twix white!

RIZZA I FOUND TWIX WHITE IN OUR SCHOOL VENDO! WE HAVE LOTS!!!

We waited outside, in between the old and new buildings and just talked. This is Kim, Mo (?, also from Korea) with Panj and Butch.

This is the old building, which they're currently renovating.

And this is the new building! We entered here and went to the second floor for a "get-together" with all the tutors and exchange students.

There were gummy bears that I finished and stole pa from other tables, haha.

Lots and lots of beer! And some apple juice and eew, carbonated water which they all seem to love here. (It tastes gross.)

Just arrived at the place!

Italian Marco and Panj

Jeannette came! Sayang talaga kasi sobrang ganda niya, di lang masyado nakikita sa mga litrato.

Jeannette and Butch

Apple juice! ...and Panjee

Butch, Steph, Chris (one of our favorite tutors!!!), Dominik (also a tutor), Panj, and Jeannette (my tutor!).

Remember I said there was another group of three from Asia? This is their only boy! HE IS SO FUNNY! He was so hyper that time. :)) His name is Jingqian, I think.

Jingqian (China), Butch, Steph, Sanda (Romania)

Panjee's turn with them

Asian boys

Hay...some things never change? Steph: pa-cute. Butch: pangs. HAHAHA.

With Matthew (I think, who is from Poland) and Jingqian

Hello!

We got to socialize and meet lots of people which was fun. I talked to Chris for a looonnggg time and he's really interesting! And funny too. Haha. One time, when we were talking about where we were going to travel (this was all of us talking), this happened:

S: We're thinking of going to IBIZA too maybe.
C: Oh yeah...THE VISA. You haven't gotten your residence permits yet?

HAHAHA. We all kept on laughing. Super funny.

We met other people too from France, Chile, Germany, Korea, Romania, etc. It was nice socializing, especially with people who are pretty much our age. Chris though is 25! He's our CSR classmate, haha! We found out too, this night, that Kim is 25! He doesn't look it at all!

We also met this woman, I forgot her name. Mrs. Wurzel, I think? She'll be replacing Marta at the International Office. She seems really nice and motherly. Haha. So I'm looking forward to "working" with her. Haha.

Walked home with Butch at around 8:30. It was super cold!!!

Skyped with Marc, for the first time he got back since Bacolod, then cooked a late night snack then went to bed. :)

It was a looonnngg day! But a great one at that! :)

P.S.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNA BANANA!!!!!!!!!!!
