September 26, 2010 - Homeless!

Had breakfast with Panj at the dining hall and this adorable baby was directly in my view. She was such a cutie!!! She said hello to me!

What I had for breakfast

Outside our hostel

This is the walk down to the city center which is really nearby

Down down down

Saint Lorenz Church (It was a Lutheran church)

We went around the city. Finally, no more rain! All you have to do is walk straight from our hostel and you pass by pretty much everything. Somewhere near the end is the Neues museum, which is their modern museum in Nürnberg. There were a lot of really weird stuff that didn't seem like art but I guess you have to have the eye for those things and I just don't, haha.

I liked this wall though! I really wanna have something like this when I grow up. Full of family photos!

I really liked this painting. What do you see?

Correct! A city! Haha. I really like it.

We went around the city again afterwards. This is Saint Sebald Church. We entered it although I won't post photos anymore since they're already on my FB account.

We heard church bells and since it was a Sunday, was looking for which church it was coming from so we could hear mass. We found it and then entered. We were a bit late cause we weren't quite sure where the bells were coming from. The mass was in German of course. They don't sing "Our Father" nor hold hands but they do shake hands instead of just nod at each other like in the Philippines when it's time to say peace! (Sorry, I suck, I don't know the formal name.)

Again, we went around then went to this well with gates around it. On the gate were two rings. I didn't get to take a photo myself but here's one from the internet:

We turned the rings around lots of times cause one ring was for wealth and the other for children!

Next, we went to the castle beside our hostel. It was kind of like a compound. There was a hotel also, I'm guessing. And these are some of the rooms. Adorable, isn't it?

Butch and I

We didn't take a tour of this particular castle anymore cause we had to get back to Ingolstadt na rin.

Haha. Butch and I at the train. We watched "Garden State," cute movie.

Back at Ingolstadt and eating my FIRST RICE MEAL! That's döner or turkey ham with rice. My favorite food here. It tastes amazing!!!!!!

We were supposed to check in jugendeburge, our favorite hostel, and first home here in Ingolstadt but then Panj met up with us while eating and told us the place was CLOSED! Apparently, we were supposed to check in BEFORE 12 but it slipped our minds. So were panicking cause we were HOMELESS. And we were supposed to celebrate the eve of Panj's birthday that night! Hahaha.

We walked to our hostel after eating and true enough, the place was closed. Panj and I tried doorbelling at the house across, thinking maybe that's where the reception girl lived. We were saying "helpfen" (dunno how to spell) and laughing nalang cause we had no place to stay talaga. Nobody answered so we figured nobody was home.

We sat at the bench outside the hostel then saw a guy about to enter. We made friends with him and his name was Laslow! He was part of the same program as us. We were so desperate we asked if we could sleep in his room for the night. WAHAHA. It's a hostel anyway! And people are meant to share rooms. But then he said no. Hahahahaha. Sobrang pathetic but super funny experience!

We stayed at a hotel instead. Super kahiya to admit how bad we are, but we said for two lang the room. We had to save in every way we could! Because of that, the price was really okay and the typical price we would've paid if we stayed at a hostel.

We finished watching Garden State while Panj watched German cartoons and kept on repeating what the cartoons said. Good job! :)

This day I really missed home already cause I hadn't communicated with anyone back home since Abu Dhabi! I was getting so emotional na so I called home! I talked to my parents and Marc and I was so happy! Also, Iya called! It was overwhelming and sooo great to hear from home!

We went drinking afterwards to celebrate Panj's TWENTIETH birthday!

Us three!

I love you, birthday girl. :)
